A beach on Tubbs Hill

Description: Tubbs Hill consists of over 120 acres and is bordered by Lake Coeur d’Alene on the west, south and east sides. There are several miles of hiking trails on the hill that provide spectacular scenery for everyone to enjoy.

We will meet at the Mudgy Moose statue at the trailhead.

(Mudgy & Millie is the story of a moose and a mouse playing hide-and-seek in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Mudgy the moose searches in the forest and in town asking amused folks if they have seen his friend Millie hiding in the area. Because Millie has been snuggled in his antlers all along, it isn’t until Mudgy bends down to get a drink that the mystery is solved. Wee Sing creator Susan Nipp and well-known illustrator Charles Reasoner have come together to create a whimsical journey in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Children of all ages can enjoy walking the real Mudgy Moose Trail in downtown CDA and discovering five bronze statues of Mudgy and Millie, created by sculptor Terry Lee.)

You can go as fast or slow as you want on our 2.2 mile hike of the perimeter of Tubbs Hill, taking as many rest stops or “beach” breaks as you want. If you look at the Tubbs Hill Trail Map on the Tubbs Hill Nature Trail Guide, we will begin by going east, starting at point 27, then to 26, on to 25, and so on. Starting at about point 11, until point 2, there are a several mini beaches just off the main trail where you can stop to access the lake for splashing, swimming, and resting.

I recommend you print out and bring these with you:
