Description: A park ranger will begin our tour at the Visitor Center. We will take the short walk to the dam to see the internal mechanisms of the structure, down to the very bottom, which includes the turbines. We will see a short movie about how the dam was made. We will do a problem solving activity involving animal tracks. On this exciting tour will be understand how the land, people, and animals are all competing for the same water. We’ll discover how each one of these impacts the others and how people have different water needs and wants in different seasons. Plus we’ll see how that what happens upstream effects what happens or doesn’t happen down the river. We’ll have a lunch break in the middle of the fun. If its nice weather we can eat at their picnic tables. In bad weather, we’ll eat indoors.

What to bring: lunch, camera, comfortable walking shoes, weather appropriate clothes, jacket and hat, water bottle, sunscreen, umbrella.
